Most consultancies advertise only tuition fees. Then families discover hostel charges, medical insurance, visa extensions, food, flights and "documentation fees" after paying the first instalment. As a doctor-led consultancy with zero hidden charges, we'll give you the full picture upfront — it's the reason we exist.
Country-wise total cost for the full MBBS course (2026-27 intake)
These are realistic all-inclusive ranges — tuition, hostel, food, insurance, visa and one round-trip flight per year — for the entire 6-year program:
Kyrgyzstan: ₹15–25 lakh total (5–6 yrs) — lowest tuition; verify NMC-advisory compliance.
Uzbekistan: ₹18–30 lakh (6 yrs) — low fees; check the university carefully.
Kazakhstan: ₹20–32 lakh (5–6 yrs) — rising quality, moderate living costs.
Philippines: ₹18–28 lakh (5.5–6 yrs) — English-speaking; BS+MD structure.
Russia: ₹25–45 lakh (6 yrs) — government universities, strong clinical exposure.
Georgia: ₹30–45 lakh (6 yrs) — European living costs.
Bangladesh: ₹28–40 lakh (5+1 yrs) — curriculum similar to India; NEET-merit based.
Compare that with private medical colleges in India at ₹60 lakh–1.5 crore, and you understand why 25,000+ Indian students go abroad every year.
Russia in detail — since it's our speciality
Tuition at government universities ranges roughly ₹2.5–6 lakh per year (2,50,000–6,00,000 RUB, exchange-rate dependent). Add hostel (₹30–80k/year), food (₹1–1.5 lakh/year if you cook; Indian mess available in most cities), insurance and visa (~₹25k/year), and flights. Per-university figures for all 20 universities we work with are on our MBBS in Russia page.
The costs nobody tells you about
Currency movement: fees are charged in RUB/USD. Budget a 10% buffer.
First-year setup: bedding, winter clothing, kitchenware, local SIM — ₹40–60k one-time.
FMGE coaching: ₹50k–1.5 lakh, usually in the final year. Factor it in from day one.
Agent "packages": if a consultant quotes a single all-inclusive lump sum payable to them rather than fee-wise to the university, walk away.
How to pay safely
Tuition should always go to the university's official bank account through proper banking channels (LRS). Keep every receipt — you'll need them for visa extensions and NMC verification later. MedAbroad never handles your tuition money; we help you pay the university directly.
